About Us

R ichmond Vale Academy  is a non profit institution in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Richmond Vale Academy is an educational institution with the aim to train activists from all over the world to fight global warming and global poverty shoulder to shoulder with the poor. The Academy currently runs two main programs: 1. The Climate Compliance Conference , which is host of the Climate Change Activists  where new students join for one or six months at the time and take part in a 10 year project to spearhead that people in St. Vincent adapt to the challenges of Global Warming and Climate Change. 2. The Fighting Poverty Program , students join an 18 months program in cooperation with One World University. Students earn an A or B-certificate in "Fighting Shoulder to Shoulder with The Poor" as Distance Learners . Students spend 6 months Service Period at a Humana People to People project in Ecuador or Belize. We also run a smaller horse training program and offer 2-4 week courses to school groups that learn about and experience St. Vincent. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to participate in positive and meaningful change. Some of the things that I enjoy are hiking and camping, reading, animals and live music.” Sam, age 24 from England “I have travelled from the U.K. in order to pursue my passion in gaining knowledge about the environment. My interests lie in the outdoors, hiking, climbing, slacklining, and diving.” Lilith, age 21 from Germany “I came to RVA to learn more about gardening and global climate change and to take that knowledge back home with me to pass it on to other people.” Kwakou, age 19 from U.S.A. “I’m from Washington D.C. and I’ve decided to come to RVA because I want to learn more about being self-sufficient and making a positive impact on my environment. My ultimate goal in life is to be a drive for improvement in today’s society. When I look around I don’t see enough...
